In grand celebration of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the "AI+ New Generation Summit: 'Industrial Innovation · Smart Governance' & Hong Kong Science and Innovation Sector Celebration Banquet for the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China," organized by the Hong Kong Science and Innovation Sector National Day Event Organizing Committee, was grandly held on October 9, 2025, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event brought together nearly a thousand professionals from Hong Kong's science and innovation sector and distinguished guests from various social sectors, with over 80 science and innovation enterprises and institutions participating in the banquet. National Day Summit: Uniting Industry Forces to Chart a Blueprint for Innovation and Technology

The summit gathered distinguished guests and featured a vibrant atmosphere. The "AI+ New Generation Summit" held that afternoon, themed "Industrial Innovation · Smart Governance," brought together over forty science and innovation institutions and nearly five hundred industry elites. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as AI-driven industrial transformation and upgrading and empowering smart city governance, providing forward-looking insights for Hong Kong's science and innovation development.

The subsequent National Day banquet elevated the celebratory atmosphere to a climax. Lam Wai-kiu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Science and Innovation Sector National Day Event Organizing Committee, delivered a welcome speech. He stated that the Hong Kong science and innovation sector has been unwavering in its efforts to promote the technological development of Hong Kong. Currently, through initiatives such as establishing 16 AI and robotics R&D centers and nurturing start-ups, the sector continues to promote the transformation of scientific research achievements. He specifically mentioned the upcoming "Hong Kong Chat" chatbot and the "Hong Kong Generative AI Technology and Application Guidelines," showcasing Hong Kong's active role in promoting inclusive AI development and ensuring the technology's safety and reliability.

Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, John Lee Ka-chiu, attended as the guest of honor and delivered a speech. He stated, "The SAR government is fully committed to leading the development of new quality productive forces with innovation and technology, building a new real economy for Hong Kong. Through the three HK$100 billion initiatives, we are providing crucial platforms to gather global science and innovation resources and talent for Hong Kong, striving to build a complete I&T ecosystem and promote Hong Kong as an international I&T hub." He emphasized that the development strategy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area offers a broad stage for Hong Kong's I&T sector. Hong Kong will fully leverage its unique advantages of "relying on the motherland and connecting with the world" to serve as a "super connector" and "super value-adder," contributing Hong Kong's strength to the nation's goal of building a technological powerhouse.

Liu Guangyuan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., in his subsequent speech, affirmed the unique role of Hong Kong's technology sector in national development. He raised three expectations: first, he hoped that Hong Kong's I&T sector would shoulder its mission in building the nation into a technological powerhouse; second, to seize the golden opportunities brought by national support, including recent important measures such as the approval of 15 State Key Laboratories in Hong Kong; and third, to fully leverage Hong Kong's unique advantages in research platforms, global resource hubs, and international exhibitions, striving to establish Hong Kong as a "source" and "win-win ground" for international cutting-edge technologies.
